Guerrero's Pacific coast is the setting for Hotelito, where co-founder Andrés Saavedra designed both the architecture and interiors: polished concrete and original Mexican artwork throughout. Sea or jungle views from every bedroom, a saltwater infinity pool, a beach club, an on-site surf school, and an organic farm feeding the restaurant. Solar panels supply most of the energy. Green credentials, excellent waves.

Forty-five minutes south of Paris, a Cistercian abbey abandoned during the French Revolution and recently reborn under the smart team behind Paris Society, Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay is close enough to the capital for a spontaneous long weekend while surrounded by enough authentic countryside to feel like a genuine escape. The cloisters, the lake, and the parkland forest are truly extraordinary.

In Mendoza’s Uco Valley, where Malbec vines meet dusty desert and the Andes, Awasi Mendoza keeps things quietly low-key. Its 12 stone-clad villas sit among olive groves and vineyards, each with a private plunge pool, wood-burning fireplace, and a guide with a 4x4 for days spent between cult bodegas and mountain trails. Back at the lodge, dinners spotlight the valley’s produce, from flame-cooked meats to vegetables grown on Awasi’s own estate.

Deep in Argentina's Atlantic rainforest, minutes from Iguazú Falls, this secluded jungle lodge scatters 14 stilted villas among the trees, each with a plunge pool, private terrace, and personal guide with a 4×4. Built from native wood with Guaraní-inspired craftwork; the lodge protects 145 hectares of virgin rainforest. Days go to waterfall hikes, boat rides, and community visits.

A Rosewood opening will always attract a crowd, and when its Viennese outpost swung its doors open on Petersplatz, it quickly became the city's most exciting hotel debut in years. Set within a restored neoclassical building where Mozart once lived, the property pairs Lobmeyr crystal chandeliers with contemporary Viennese art, while the exclusive Hoffmann House marks the very place where the composer first met his wife, Constanze.

Harbour Island's Dunmore Town, all pastel houses, pink sand beaches, and golf carts, is where this Eleven-owned stay feels like the effortlessly cool beach house of a particularly well-connected friend. Breezy, unhurried, and entirely at home on one of the Caribbean's most charming islands. The pink sand beach alone justifies the journey, and the food is seriously good.

A few minutes from Eleuthera's pink-sand beaches, this solar-powered working farm stay, twelve thatched cottages surrounded by fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and seventy chickens, is part island escape, part slow living experiment. Guests feed hens, pick herbs, swim in the freshwater pool, or head to sister property The Other Side for paddleboarding. Meals come from steps away; the air smells of mango and sea salt.

Francis Ford Coppola in the Belize rainforest at 1,500 feet, palm-thatched cabanas, an infinity pool, a spa, and an Italian restaurant using homegrown ingredients. Mountain biking, horse riding, and waterfalls fill the days; no TVs or air conditioning, because the hammock and jungle sounds are the point. Don't miss the seashell phones.
