The Experimental Group's take on a Menorcan finca, beachy but stylish, with freestanding rooms spread across the island flora. Bold textiles and whitewashed walls fill the spaces; the pool scene is social, the team are genuinely in the know about the best beaches. Leaving is difficult, but the island rewards the effort.

8:42 AM
If you went to bed on the later side, you’re not alone. Take your time to rise, maybe catching a few of those morning rays on your own terrace, before meandering over to the main house for breakfast. It’s a hearty continental spread, but we’re such fans of the granola (we even went so far to ask for the recipe) with creamy yoghurt and a pot of coffee.
10:29 AM
Keep up the pace and hop in your car for a drive over to the beach. The car park gets full pretty quickly, so it’s worth trying to beat the queues. It’s a hike to Cala Macarella, but keep going until you reach Cala Macarelleta; it’s a tiny cove with bone-coloured sand and the bluest water around. Just bring an umbrella, water and a towel (and lunch if you plan on behind here for a while).
11:49 AM
While you’re out and about, it’s worth checking out the Ciutadella. Menorcan sandals are sold in most places, but we like Pretty Ballerinas for more of a spread. Shop homeware from Papillon by Mónica Colomar and beach pieces at TEMBO
1:00 PM
Kick-off with a red vermouth at Ulisses, next to the green-and-white tiled fish market, before a seafood feast at Restaurant Cafè Balear. Tuna carpaccio, lobster soup and garlic gambas should all be ordered.
7:14 PM
As the light starts to get golden, venture out on a little walk; the front desk will tell you the signs to follow. There’s a special secret cove (take note, it’s not wise to swim here), but it’s pretty magical as the sun starts to go down.
7:48 PM
There’s a real vibe with the crowd here – cool, social, and definitely European. And Experimental really know how to put a good playlist together. Head down to the bar for a Red Almond made with local gin, almond bitters, Aperol, orange and lemon juice.
8:45 PM
The menu here is seriously good: pan con tomate, grilled chicken with Moroccan lemon, white fish ceviche and a very good chocolate tart to round out the day.
