Every day there is a communal breakfast spread, a beautiful feast of homemade tarts and grapefruit jam. Elizabeth and Johnny are always around, chatting to guests and swapping tips on Maremma.

One of their favorite spots is La Feniglia, a 6 km natural reserve where you can take long walks, enjoy a swim in crystal-clear waters, have a picnic, or linger over a delicious meal with your feet in the sand, right by the sea.

Trattoria da Maria Moretti in the village dishes up hearty plates of local favorites that include the giant ravioli-like Tortelli Maremmani and wild boar stew. There may not be much choice but the set menu is always delicious and very generous.
