Have a coffee in bed, looking over the square before heading downstairs for a simple breakfast (note the homemade Madeleines). You could also grab pastries from nearby Arome Bakery (loved for its funky combinations like miso, bacon and escargot swirls).

Get out for a walk along the canal to Little Venice. Watch boats float along, barge owners sipping their coffee and London life pass by. It’s super pretty.

Book into The Hero, one of the coolest pubs in West London, and from the guys behind The Pelican in Notting Hill. Any pie on the menu should be ordered, or if you’re after something light, the scotch egg is one of the best we’ve had.

Make your way back to the hotel to dispatch any shopping bags. We love a stroll to the Wallace Collection. Spot Fragonard’s The Swing - this museum is one of our favourite places to hide from any bad weather, we could spend hours inside.

Book, definitely book, dinner at St. John in Marylebone. The original is in Farringdon but we actually think this location is pretty special. It’s a city institution and meat must be ordered. Braised ewe with green sauce, potted pork, deep-fried rarebit…we could go on.

It feels like the hotel bar has a great story to tell. Maybe it’s because the cocktails are so good. Try the Bombay Spice; it’s made with gin, mint and clove cordial lime and ginger beer.

They’ve left original detailing throughout the hotel, hinting at the building’s past life. The restored stained glass windows are our favourite.
They've worked with master craftsmen on a lot of the furniture : the dark wood pieces in the rooms have been completely custom-made. There's no cookie-cutter vibe here.
