We love catching the sunrise, hitting the peaks of the Torres del Paine. Wait for a knock on the door from your guide – breakfast’s ready: warm bread, local honey, fresh berries, eggs how you like them.

Head out in your 4x4 and catch the road turn into plain. Guanacos will run alongside, rheas cross ahead, then hike up to a ridge and a hidden lagoon. Your guide will pour you some hot tea from a thermos.

Opt for a picnic outside – roasted vegetables, local cheese, a bottle of Chilean Carménère all spread out beautifully on a blanket under the wide-open sky.

Drive back through the golden light. At your villa, fill the outdoor tub. Later, nap under wool blankets. Talk about relaxing.

As the sky starts to turn, head over to the main lodge for an aperitivo: a Pisco sour, soft jazz and dusky valley views.
