Clinging to the side of Gordes' famous hilltop, the Bastide claims what might be the prettiest position in all of Provence. Under Airelles' careful eye, the stately interiors feature vintage floral fabrics, antique furniture, and ancestral portraits on the walls. Staff wear straw hats and puffed sleeves; Provençal menus and terraced gardens complete the picture.

This is up there as one of our favourite breakfasts. And all in front of that Luberon view. Eggs Benedict are very good too.

With villages like Bonnieux and Ménerbes only 20 minutes away, hop in the hotel’s vintage 2CV for a spin. We suggest making a stop at Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque when the lavender fields are in full purple bloom.
12:30 PM
There are quite a few spots to wine and dine at the Bastide, but we adore Clover. Not just for the view (a common theme here) but the menu. Run by Chef Jean François Piège it’s fresh, flavourful and spotlights seasonal ingredients grown in France. Order the squid, carbonara style.
3:06 PM
Lounging by the pool is an art form here. Enjoy ice cream on tap (from a vintage peppermint blue cart) and drinks by the pool. Bring a good book.
5:24 PM
This is an impressive spa. There’s an indoor pool under beautiful vaulted Burgundy stone ceilings. They’ve partnered with Guerlain too. Book in for a massage before the sun sets, you can also ask for treatment to be on the terrace.

For a bit of a scene, we love the TIGrr. it’s cool and swish, and they whip up excellent cocktails – try the L’or de Gordes, a sparkling mix of cognac, apricot liqueur, lemon, honey, thyme, and veuve clicquot champagne.
