Havana is where Amsterdam-born designer Andre Visser and Cuban dancer and musician Sandy Solano built a small-scale stay blending the aesthetics of two very different worlds. The five rooms are beautifully designed; the music programme is genuine and central to the DNA of the place. One of those rare hotels that feels like a living, breathing, and very personal creative project.

slow travel, city trippers
8:18 AM
From the early hours of the morning, the coffee shop just downstairs gets filled with the city’s coolest creatives. Join them in a strong brew, or two.
10:02 AM
There's a lot to see from just strolling through the streets. Clock up that step count and remember to look up. The buildings here are beautiful – La Plaza Vieja is a few minutes walk away.
12:30 PM
Head to lunch at Al Carbon. There’s a wood-fired BBQ inside so the meat-based really are the star of the show. Go for something like steak, the tomahawk is pretty delicious.
5:59 PM
Make a pit stop at Bar El Dandy for the best mojitos and people-watching in the city. When in Cuba…you rum.
7:01 PM
Get back to the hotel for some time to hang out. Soak in the tub or pop up to the roof for lounging with views.
8:30 PM
Dinner has to be at La Guarida – but you must book. The walk up to the restaurant is so special (you'll recognise the staircase). Stroll to the waterfront and watch the classic cars drive by. A scenic way to end the day.
